Publication has at times been discontinued for short periods, but never for any great length of time. It was founded as "The Star", changing the name to "The Press" in 1926, when it went into the hands of J. H. Kerr until he became postmaster, Mr. Kerr was editor and publisher. He turned the work over to a son, R.H. Kerr, when he took charge of the postmaster's job. Present circulation of the Friday publication is 1,000. LaFayette Sun, Apr 21, 1926: The first issue of the Randolph Press, published at Wedowee, Ala., reached our office this week. The former paper, the Randolph Star, was recently sold to the Roanoke Leader leaving Wedowee without a newspaper until the announcement this week of the Press. Mr. Burson, of Wedowee, will have active management of the paper and will also represent the Bowden Press, of Bowden, Ga.
