The Atlanta Constitution December 30, 1889
December 30. (Special) Thirty-five armed men from Randolph County came to Oxford 
last night for the purpose of secure as prisoner from the hands of United States 
Officers. They arrived too late is the prisoners were then halfway to Montgomery 
They searched every room in the Arlington hotel thinking they were there.
