SMITH TO HANDLE CHEVROLET CARS HERE ---------------------------- Beginning the first of March, the Chevrolet dealer in Roanoke will be Mr. Charles E. SMITH, formerly a prominent business man of Lineville [Clay Co., AL], now located at Center, Cherokee county, where he has been selling Ford cars. He was in Roanoke last week, looking after the details of the situation. Mr. SMITH informed The Leader that he had rented the Mathews store room, two doors north of the City Auto Supply Company. He expects to move his family here in a few weeks if he can secure a house. Mr. J. C. TAYLOR will come with him. The style of the firm will be C. E. SMITH Motor Company. The business will include accessories and repair work. The City Auto Supply Company will continue to handle Hudson and Essex cars and G. M. C. trucks and operate their service station at the present stand. [From The Roanoke Leader (Randolph County, Alabama), 10 Feb 1926, p.1]
