Anniston Star June 20, 1941
Swagg schoolhouse, located six miles west of Wedowee, was destroyed by fire 
Wednesday morning. The building was new, having been completed last fall, and it 
had been used for only one term of school The new building replaced the one 
destroyed by fire in 1939. The origin of the fire is unknown, but the state fire 
marshal is making an investigation. Some Insurance was carried, and the community 
will probably rebuild. This is the third school building this year to be burned 
in this county.
