My name has been announced as a candidate for Representative through much strong solicitation, but owing to my feebleness of health, I have declined to be a candidate, leaving the field to be occupied by older and more experienced heads. There seems to be an organization in Randolph County, Ala., that bids defiance to all vigilant committees, their laws governing the same, I have been as yet unable to know, but I am trying to obtain a copy of them, as soon as I can do so, I will send to you the same for publication. It is thought that they intend nothing good for our cause of liberty, I learned on the 26th inst., that they have purchased all the ammunition and munitions of warfare in the Town of Wedowee, besides this have made threats against volunteers and secessionists. Thise things ought to be exposed, hold still until you hear from me again unless you obtain reliable information sooner, if so, I shall be glad to hear from you. yours, & CEPHAS B. TAYLOR, M. D.
