Several hundred Negroes from far and near were there in a singing convention. Robert Zachary, who is seriously hurt, 20, killed Robert Hill, 19, and accidentally killed his own cousin, Otis Zachary, 19. Willie Staples 20, was also killed, but it is not known by whom since the fracas became more general. Several have been lodged in Wedowee jail as a result of the shooting affray.
