It has nine or ten stores, one harness shop, three shoe shops, two blacksmith shops, public gingery and grist mill, pottery and tan yard, and a large cotton factory. that gives employment to one hundred hands or more. It has two fine churches, flourishing Sunday schools, prayer-meetings, and a literary school with an attendance of more than 175 pupils.
