W. H. M’DANIEL RESIGNS AS THE HEAD ---------------------- Much interest has been aroused by the News contained in a telegram Monday afternoon to Mr. W. H. McMURRAY, chairman of the school board, from W. H. McDANIEL, announcing the offer of his resignation as president of Roanoke College to accept the presidency of a large school at Norman Park, Ga. It is understood that this school pays a salary of $1,800 a year, with house rent furnished. The school has an endowment of $50,000. Mr. McDANIEL has done good work for the Roanoke school and has made many friends here, who will regret his leaving. His successor has not yet been secured.
