Jan. 29 Ralph Williams, charged with murder in the first degree, was placed on trial Tuesday morning in the circuit court of Randolph county. The trial consumed the entire day and part of the night. After deliberating twenty minutes the jury returned a verdict of guilty and fixed the punishment at life imprisonment. On Wednesday morning, the case against Ray Williams, a twin brother, was called and he entered a plea of guilty of murder and his punishment was also fixed at life imprisonment. The boys, 19 years of age, were charged with killing Guy Yates, a taxi operator, near Roanoke on the night of August 17, last year.
