Willingham, who lives on the highway between Lineville and Wedowee, as it has a capacity of 50 gallons and can be used for a number of things. However, it is used mostly for boiling clothes. But occasionally they use it for scalding hogs. This pot until recently sat out in the open but a short time ago Mr. Willingham decided he would build furnace around it. The furnace is made of native rock and is attractive as well as useful. Mr. Willingham said he had had the pot for 35 years and that it was gave to them by his wife's father, W.T. Knight, who bought it second-hand at a sale 45 years ago. "In the old days our forefathers used these kinds of pots for making syrup," he said.
