H. HOLTZCLAW, a young negro [sic] man whom “Uncle Joe” informs us he sent to school here and at Tuskegee many years ago. He is now at the head of a large school at Utica, in which Roanoke’s old colored citizen feels a just pride. [From The Roanoke Leader (Randolph County, Alabama), 5 May 1915, p.4]
