B. WOOD, cashier of the Merchants and Farmers Bank of this city [Roanoke], called the directors of this institution together for the purpose of tendering his resignation as cashier. This meeting was held last Friday afternoon [21 May 1915]. Mr. WOOD’s resignation was accepted, to take effect September first next. Resolutions were unanimously adopted by the directors, expressing their appreciation of the high character of Mr. WOOD and of their confidence in him. This gentleman has been with the bank ever since its organization seven years ago. It has had a very successful career as shown by the statement which Mr. WOOD submitted in tendering his resignation. Mr. WOOD has not yet decided on his plans for the future, but it is the earnest wish of the many friends of Mr. WOOD and his good wife that they stay in Roanoke. They are among our very best people.
