Two of these will be shipped to Tuskegee for use there, while the third will be used among the hills and rocks around Roanoke. The machine that will be shipped to Roanoke is a fine one, of the “White Steamer” make, and costs $2,000. It will be sent first to Tompson, Ga. where Mr WRIGHT and family are visiting, and when they leave for North Carolina the machine will be forwarded to Roanoke. Thus our town becomes more metropolitan from day to day. Driving stock of nervous temperament will now have an opportunity to exchange their rural misgivings for the assurance which city life brings.
