Funeral services were at 3 p.m. at East Napoleon Church of Christ Monday, Aug. 30, with Bro. Wilbur Bass and Bro. Otis Bowen Jr. officiating. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery. Mr. Hester is survived by his wife, Mrs. Faye Hester of Wedowee; one daughter, Mrs. Vicki Hester Robinson of Brattleboro, Vt.; one son, Danny Hester of Holtville; two grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Blanch Williamson of Newell and Mrs. Mavis Rollins of Roanoke; two [sic – three] brothers, Bob Hester of Roanoke, Bill Hester of LaGrange, Ga. and Jimmy Hester of Roanoke. Mr. Hester was a native and lifelong resident of Randolph County. He had been employed with West Point Pepperell Company for 31 years. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. Burial was at Randolph Memory Gardens. Mrs. Sheppard died Friday, Aug. 27, at Randolph County Hospital. She was born Oct. 26, 1919, in Five Points, daughter of Claude and Lena Mae Redmond Stillwell. She was a member of Roanoke First United Methodist Church and had retired from work at Sheppard’s, the Roanoke jewelry store she and her husband founded. Survivors include her husband, Dwight Hillis Sheppard of Roanoke; a daughter, Mrs. Judy Awbrey of Roanoke; a son, Edwin Aaron Sheppard of Decatur, Ga.; a sister, Mrs. Louise Parrish of Lanett; two brothers, Render Lee Stillwell of Lanett and Earl Stillwell of Valley; and four grandchildren. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens. Mrs. Sikes died Saturday, Aug. 28, at Beverly East Nursing Home in Birmingham, where she had resided for the past three and one-half years. A Randolph County native and lifelong resident, Mrs. Sikes was born June 13, 1912, daughter of Milton Franklin and Bernice Madeline Holder Lee. She was a self-employed store operator and a member of Radney’s Chapel Methodist Church. Her husband, Wyatt Elliott Sikes, preceded her in death. Survivors include two sons, A. Wayne Sikes of Birmingham and Charles Phillips Sikes of Dallas, Tex.; a brother, Guy Holder of Trussville; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was born in Carroll County, Ga., Nov. 5, 1961, son of Charles Lindy Kaylor and Dera Rush Kaylor. Mr. Kaylor was a shipping clerk for a rope manufacturer. He was preceded in death by a brother, Terry Kaylor. Surviving are his parents Charles and Dera Kaylor, sister Carolyn Huddleston and brother Larry Kaylor, all of Roanoke, and a number of nieces and nephews. Pearson Jr., 43, of Milltown, died Aug. 21, 1993, at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika. Mr. Pearson was born Jan. 23, 1950, in Chambers County. He was a registered nurse and had worked for a number of years at Chambers County Hospital in LaFayette and later at Heard County Hospital in Franklin, Ga., and Randolph County Hospital in Roanoke. He was a member of Milltown Baptist Church. Survivors include two sisters, Frances Griffin of Memphis, Tenn., and Susann Taylor of LaGrange, Ga., and a nephew, Kenneth Benjamin Taylor of LaGrange. He lived most of his life in LaGrange, where he worked as an equipment operator with Troup County. He was a member of the VFW. His wife, Mary Lorene Fetner Spradlin, preceded him in death. Survivors include her husband, Grover Broach of Roanoke; her mother, Mrs. Lula Parker McManus of Roanoke; and a sister, Mrs. Clarice McCord of Newell. Quattlebaum Funeral Home of Roanoke was in charge of arrangements. __________ Glemer Calhoun (WEDOWEE) Glemer Calhoun, 92, of Wedowee, died Tuesday, Sept. 28, 1993, in Wedowee Hospital after a short illness. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, at Providence Baptist Church, with Rev. John Duncan officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery. Mrs. Calhoun is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Ruth Wilder of Wedowee; four grandchildren, Mrs. Brenda Carlee, Willis Calhoun, Patricia Calhoun and Leslie Calhoun; and several nieces. Pallbearers will be men of First Baptist Church of Wedowee. Mrs. Calhoun will lie in state at Benefield Funeral Home, Wedowee, and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday evening, Sept. 29.
