Mr. Marshall died Tuesday, Aug. 29, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Tuskegee after a short illness. A native of Laurel, Miss., he was born June 22, 1933, son of Charles Edward and Lillie Wood Marshall. He was a navy veteran of the Korean War and a member of Wadley United Methodist Church, and had worked as a television repairman. Survivors include two daughters, Sherrie McDaniel of New Site and Cindy Watson of Jackson’s Gap; a son, Charles Edward Marshall of Roanoke; and five grandchildren. O’Neal, Lawrence O’Neal and Huey O’Neal; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Adella O’Neal; two grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren and other relatives. Yvonne Bunyea of Killeen, Texas, Mrs. Monique Whitlow of Washington, D.C., Mrs. Dorothea Doctor of Fort Lee, Va., Spec. Delia Ruth Bell of Fort Bragg, N.C., and Ms. Cynthia Marie Bell of Roanoke; three brothers, Rhemus L. Holmes, James Holmes and Carl Terrell Jr., all of Newark, N.J.; nine grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Bell was born in Fairfield, N.C. Her parents were the late Dewey Holmes and the late Dorothy Lee Collins Holmes Terrell. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Cynthia Bell Wilson. In 1974, she moved to her husband’s hometown of Roanoke. Mrs. Bell was an active member of Macedonia Baptist Church, where she raised funds for the renovation of the church and worked with the choir and missionary society. Mrs. Gladney is survived by three sons, William Douglas Gladney of Atlanta, Ga., Virgil Gladney of Tempe, Ariz., and Wallace Gladney of Lexington, Ky.; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Mrs. Gladney, a native of Randolph County, had lived in Conyers for the past eight years. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Wedowee. Jarrod Ryan ‘Bud’ Maples, 15, of Carrollton, Ga., died Friday afternoon, Sept. 1, 1995, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. Jarrod was born May 30, 1980, in Carroll County, son of Scott Maples and Kathy Yates Maples. He was a sophomore at Central High School. Mr. Battle was born in Wadley on June 20, 1920, son of Willie and Nonnie Wood Battle. He was a member of County Line Baptist Church before moving to Detroit, Mich., with his family in 1955. Survivors include his wife, Lavonia Battle, and a daughter, Jacquline Thompson of Detroit; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, John Will and Credis; two sisters, Yarnlie Lee and Ethal Mae; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Mrs. Salmon was a native of Randolph County, Ala., but had lived in LaGrange most of her life. She was a member of the Second Baptist Church. She was retired as a nurse employed by Dr. R. S. O’Neal for 26 years. Survivors include one daughter, Linda Johnson of Thomaston, Ga.; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild; three sisters, Mildred Traylor and Sarah McConnell of LaGrange and Tressie Carroll of Fayetteville, Ga.; two brothers, Joseph F. McManus of Fairburn, Ga., and Garey McManus of Douglasville, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral for Mrs. Salmon was at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12, at the Second Baptist Church, with the Rev. Bill Bryant officiating. Interment was in Shadowlawn Cemetery. Tidwell (ROANOKE) Funeral services for Collins H. Burial was at Randolph Memory Gardens. Mr. Tidwell died Friday, Sept. 22, at his home. A Chambers County native, he was born Nov. 16, 1919, son of William T. and Martha Butler Tidwell. He was a World War II veteran, a member of Trinity Baptist Church and a retired concrete construction worker. Survivors include his wife, Louise Gunn Tidwell of Roanoke; a daughter, Sondra T. Winford Wilder, 89, of Pelham, formerly of Randolph County, died Thursday, Sept. 21, 1995, in Consult America, East Haven Nursing Home, Birmingham. Frances Bradley Bartlett, 71, of LaGrange, Ga., died Wednesday, Sept. 20, 1995, at West Georgia Medical Center, LaGrange, after a brief illness. Mrs. Bartlett was born in the New Hope community in Randolph County, daughter of the late Marion Washington Bradley and Mary Missouri Johnson Bradley. She was retired from Elm City Plant of Callaway Mills Company and as a salesperson in the children’s department of Mansour’s. She was a member of Southwest LaGrange Baptist Church, the N.G.O. Club, the Charity Sunday School Class and the WMU. She was also actively involved in the Troup County Senior Center. Funeral services were at Southwest LaGrange Baptist Church on Saturday, Sept. 23, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Steve McCranie and the Rev. Max McCord officiating. Mrs. DeChristofaro was born in Randolph County, Ala., on March 2, 1932, daughter of Ottie and Era Moon, who preceded her in death. A homemaker, she had lived in Tatum since 1979, having moved there from Houston. Her church affiliation was Baptist. He received his doctorate of religious education in 1990 from Emanuel Baptist Seminary in Shelby, N.C. He was a former principal of Woodland Christian School in Phenix City and was a sixth-grade teacher at Wesley Heights Elementary School.
