Anniston Star
Services for Jesse L. Ackles, 73, of Lineville will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at 
Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Delta with Geneva Hayes officiating. Burial will 
be the church cemetery with Sims Funeral Services in charge. The body will be at 
the church an hour before services. Mr. Ackles died Tuesday at Veterans Medical 
Center in Tuskegee. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. IcyBell Ackles of 
Lineville; four daughters, Mrs. Lera Williams of California, Mrs. Nellie Brown 
of Heflin, Mrs. Effie Hill of Birmingham and Mrs. Willie Mae Cook of Lineville; 
two sons, Jerry Ackles of Lineville and Terry Ackles of Anniston; a sister, Mrs. 
Mavis Welch of Delta; a brother, O B. Ackles of California; 28 grandchildren: 
and a great-grandchild. Pallbearers will be brothers of Miracle Prayer House. 
Mr. Ackles was a Randolph County native and a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist 
Church. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
