Sunday morning, Aug. 22, in a Roanoke hospital. His death came as a result of injuries received in an automobile wreck about eleven o'clock Saturday night. His home was in Carrollton, Ga., and he had come to attend the funeral his aunt in this county Saturday afternoon. Also injured seriously in the same accident was a young cousin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Pete Almon of South Carolina. The accident, according to reports, occurred on a dirt road about two miles south of Wedowee when the driver lost control of car the driver and it went into a ditch. A brother of young Almon was killed in a pick-up truck wreck, near Rock Mills the first of this year. Survivors include the father Grady Almon of Carrollton, and FOR brothers, Joe of West Point, James of Washington State, Jack, serving with the U.S. Army in Germany, and Mack, in the U. S. Army. Funeral services were held from Rocky Branch Baptist Church at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, Aug 24. Interment was in the old cemetery, Quattlebaum's Funeral Home in charge.
