Boone Ayres, 69, of Heflin, Rt. 1 will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Morrison's Chapel United Methodist Church in Randolph County with the Rev. Lewis Bowen and the Rev. Julian Murphy officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee in charge. The family will receive friends today at the funeral home. The body will be at the church an hour before services. Mr. Ayres died Tuesday at Veterans Hospital in Birmingham. Survivors include a son, William H. Ayres of Alexander City; five sisters, Mrs. Ora Green of Abilene, Texas, Mrs. Vera Lee of Heflin, Mrs. Era Green of Anniston, Mrs. Elenora McCord of Atlanta, and Mrs. Louise Daniel of Newell; two brothers, John Ayres of Anniston and Woodrow Ayres of Gadsden; and two grandchildren. Pallbearers will be nephews. Mr. Ayres was a native of Randolph County, a retired military sergeant, and a veteran of World War H and the Korean War. He was a Methodist.
