Services for Miss Dora Ayres, 92, of Wedowee, Rt. 1, will be Thursday at 2 p.m. 
at Corinth Baptist Church in Randolph County with the Rev. Oscar Cotton and the 
Rev. J. Z. Lipham officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery with 
Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee in charge. Miss Ayres died Monday at Mary 
Brandon Nursing Home in Oxford. Survivors include a sister Mrs. W.P. Burns of 
Birmingham, and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be John W. White, J 
Dewey Hughes, James E. Hughes, Don Knowles, Eugene Wood, Tommy Fowler, Donald 
Green, Ernest Morrison and Jack Wood. Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of 
Corinth Baptist Church. Miss Ayres was a lifelong resident of Randolph County, a 
retired schoolteacher for 40 years in the Randolph County school system and a 
member of Corinth Baptist Church.
