Sadness again hovers over our community by the death of Miss Ada DISHAROON. She was afflicted with that dread disease, consumption, and was confined to her room for several months, though she was resigned to the will of Him who presides over all things and who is able and willing to heal all our sorrows. She was born in 1872 and died October 19th, 1895. She joined the Missionary Baptist church at Union, August 5th, 1893, where her membership remained until her death. She lived a pious Christian life and was loved and is missed by all of her associates. Her mother had only preceded her a few months across the chilly tide to the regions beyond. She leaves only her father, one brother, two sisters and a host of friends to mourn her loss, though we feel that our loss is her eternal gain. We do not realize how very dear and near to us are the loved ones of our household until they leave our homes for the Father’s house. It is a significant fact that after they have gone only the beautiful traits of their characters are remembered. Indeed, it is only after their companionship with us is over that we truly see and know what their lives really were. So many little things in their every-day lives we took no note of which when the hands have been folded and the voice silenced, come to our remembrance as proofs of their unselfish, neverfailing love for us. The weak points in their characters, the faults which we magnified and judged unjustly, are forgotten, and we feel that we would give all we possess could we undo the wrong that we did them often-times by passing unjust judgment on them. The sweet way of remembering only the beautiful things in the lives of those who have left us is akin to the wonderful mercy that our Father in heaven has for us in the atonement He has made for us. His children’s sins are blotted out and remembered no more against them. Her remains were laid to rest in the cemetery at Union Church. Rev. A. P. KEY made a very appropriate and pathetic exhortation and many tear-bedimmed eyes were manifested. While I draw this fleeting breath, When my eyes shall close in death, When I rise to worlds unknown, And behold thee on they throne; He leads me to the place, Where heavenly pastures grow, Where living waters gently pass, And full salvaton [sic] flow. The seed will soon become a flower, The flower become a seed, Then seize, oh! youth, the present hour, Of that thou hast most need. Do thy best always, do it now, For in the present time As in the furrows of the plow Fall seeds of good or crime. The sun and rain will ripen fast Each seed that thou hast sown, And every act and word at last By its own fruit be known. And soon the harvest of thy toil Rejoicing thou shalt reap; Or o’er thy wild, neglected soil Go forth in shame to weep.
