January 3rd the husband and father, Mr. A. G. RANDLE, was called. Only ten days later the daughter was summoned to the further shore. In her last moments she gave testimony to seeing her father and hearing him call her to come. She had been suffering since before her father's death, but was up much of the time, and only Saturday morning did her condition cause alarm. The end came at noon, apoplexy [sic] being the immediate cause of the dissolution. Sunday afternoon, at the Methodist church, of which the deceased was a member, one of the largest congregations ever gathered there assembled to express their respects and sympathy, at 3 o'clock, the funeral hour. The services were pathetic and appropriate. The pastor [Rev. S. L. DOBBS] was assisted by Rev. F. H. FARRINGTON. The class mates of the deceased each laid a flower upon her casket as they passed to the seats reserved for them. After the services were concluded the remains were laid to rest beside the tomb in which the father's form was laid away so short a time before. Miss Annie Laurie was one of the choicest, sweetest girls of the community -- the companion and comfort of her widowed mother -- and her going away is inexpressibly sad. This double affliction not only falls with crushing force upon the unfortunate home, but it has wrung the heart of the community. Every effort has been made to lessen the sorrow of the bereaved ones by loving and loyal friends.
