Roanoke Leader
Mrs. Verna Lee Baker of LaGrange, age 51, died of burns at the home of her 
mother, Mrs. J. T. Frost, Chestnut Street, Roanoke, about 8 o'clock Friday 
night, May 3. Mrs. Baker is survived by her husband, Tom Baker; 3 sons, John S. 
Baker of Kassel, Germany, James T. Baker of Oxford, Ohio, and Jerald A. Baker of 
Chattanooga, Tenn.; 3 daughters, Mrs. William Moore and Miss Nancy Baker of 
Atlanta and Miss Rita Jo Baker of Roanoke; 4 grandchildren; her mother, Mrs. J. 
T. Frost of Roanoke; and 3 brothers, Hubert Frost of Seattle, Wash., Howard 
Frost of East Point, Ga., and Paul Frost of Shawmut. Funeral services for Mrs. 
Baker were conducted at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon from Quattlebaum's Chapel by 
Rev. William Dean. Burial was in Cedarwood Cemetery. Quattlebaum's Brown Service 
Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
