J. P. Bean, 70, who served as pastor of three Congregational Christian Churches, Wesley's Chapel, Spring Hill and Shady Grove, also worked as a cabinet maker. He was active and efficient in both fields of work until ho passed away Nov. 26, Thanksgiving Day, while in his tool shop, from a heart attack. He was a faithful servant in the pulpit, this was evidenced in every pastorate he ever had and lived a life of loving service to his fellowmen. The deceased had made his home in Lineville approximately 15 years, coming from Randolph County. Funeral services were held in the Wesley's Chapel Church, Saturday, November 27th, by Rev. John Weathers, pastor of Lineville Methodist Church, Rev. Dave Craft and Rev. O. L. Sheets, Blair in charge. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Sallie Bean; three daughters, Mrs. Imogene Reynolds, Lineville, Mrs. Mavis Oebser, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Mrs. Lorene Holland, Jamestown, N. Y.; two sons, Julian Bean, Wedowee, and Zenus Bean, Chester, Penn. Seven sisters, Mrs. T. W. Phillips. Mrs. Jesse Latham, Albertville, Mrs. L. P. Latham, Millerville, Mrs. Ada Mitchell, Boaz, Mrs. Lou Cook, and Mrs. Walt Foster, Birmingham, Mrs. Allen Fuller, Ohachee and one brother, H. M. Bean, Delta, and 11 grandchildren. Active pallbearers were Shearl Bean, Arnold Bean, F. L. Bean, Billie Bean, Roy Hammer and Joey Bean.
