Bearden, 79, of Heflin were today at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church No. Two of Randolph County with the Rev. John Skinner, the Rev. David DeLong and the Rev. Hugh Pesnell officiating. Burial Was in the adjoining cemetery with Dryden Mineral Home in charge. Mr. Bearden died Sunday at his residence. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Pearlie Bearden Heflin; two daughters, Mrs. Ruby Walker and Mrs. Ruth Smith, both of Heflin; three sons, Curtis Bearden of Weaver, Edward Bearden of Ranburne and Arvel Bearden of Heflin; four sisters, Mrs. Mattie Currie and Mrs. Evis Linley, both of Wedowee, and Mrs. Occie Noles and Mrs. Dessie Bibles, both of Anniston; five brothers Bill Bearden of Heflin, Iverson Bearden, Sylvln Bearden and Monroe Bearden, all of Anniston, and George Bearden of Florida; 20 grandchildren and 29 great- grandchildren. Pallbearers were Clayton Howell, Henry Riddle, John D. Collins, J.C. Cavender, James Wright and Jimmy Cavender. Mr. Bearden was a native of Randolph County and had lived in Cleburne County for the past 35 years. He was a member of Pilgrim's Rest.
