Roanoke Leader
Funeral services for Mrs. Elsie Pool Benefield, who died at the home of her 
daughters on East Main Street Friday morning at 1:20 o'clock, were conducted 
Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock from the Pleasant Grove Church with the Rev. Mr. 
Reaves officiating. Interment was in the church yard, Quattlebaum's Funeral Home 
in charge. Mrs. Benefield is survived by four daughters: Mrs. Bertha Mae Green, 
Mrs. Mary Jim Perry, and Misses Myrtis and Minnie Lee Benefield, of Roanoke; and 
two sons, Cpl. William Benefield and Sgt. John Benefield, in overseas service.

Anniston Star:
Mrs. Dave Benefield died at her home in Roanoke Thursday night She was about 51 
years of age and was born and reared near Wedowee. Funeral services were held at 
Mt. Pleasant Church Sunday afternoon. Rev. Wallace Reaves conducted the 
services. Interment was In the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
