Funeral for Luther M. Benefield 80 who died Tuesday morning at his home near here 
was held Wednesday at Big Springs Baptist Church of Randolph County Ala Burial 
was in the Big Springs Church Cemetery. A native of Randolph County. Mr. 
Benefield was a retired farmer. He was a member of Big Springs Baptist Church and 
had resided in Troup County 20 years. Survivors include three sons Carl Benefield 
Hogansville, Guy Benefield LaGrange and James Benefield Fresno Calif, three 
daughters Mrs. Sam Spradlin LaGrange and Mrs. Robert Screws and Mrs. John Carter 
both of Fayetteville.
