South Western Baptist
Died at her residents in Wedowee, in Randolph County Ala. ELIZA ANN BOWEN, in 
the 26th year of her life. This devoted lady was born the 7th day of August 
1830, in the state of Georgia, and in the year of 1848, was converted and became 
a member of the Baptist church, and from that time she lived an exemplary 
Christian life to the day of her death which was Apr 1st, 1857. Her remains were 
followed to the grave by numerous friends and acquaintances. She left and 
affectionate husband. whom she loved with all her heart, and six children. 
Together with many friends and acquaintances to lament her early death. "And I 
heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, write blessed are the dead which die 
in the lord from henceforth yea, saith the spirit that they rest and from labor 
and their works do follow them".  John Reaves
