The Columbus Ledger
Mrs. Lila E Bowen 85, a resident of the Hillcrest Community died at 4:55 am 
Monday at her residence following a long illness. Mrs. Bowen was born in 
Randolph County Ala and had lived in Troup County 21 years. She was a member of 
Liberty Baptist Church in Randolph County. Funeral will be at Hillcrest Baptist 
Church at 2 pm today with the Rev W T Karr and the Rev Quillian Thornton 
officiating. Burial will be in the Liberty Baptist Church cemetery. Survivors 
include four daughters Mrs. Artis Edwards Franklin, Mrs. Robert H. Stogner Sr 
Hillcrest, Mrs. Pearlie Butler Griffin and Mrs. Alfred Ray LaGrange: three sons 
Rufus Bowen Hogansville and Thomas and Floyd Bowen both of LaGrange a brother 
Tom Edmondson Roanoke Ala 38 grandchildren, 80 great-grandchildren, several 
great - greatgrandchildren and several nieces and nephews
