Roanoke Leader
Sam Bowling, colored, of the Corn House section, was killed Sunday evening by 
Charlie Terrill, colored. It is reported that Bowling tried to settle an 
argument between Terrill and his wife when Terrill turned on Bowling and killed 
him.
