Roanoke Leader
Mrs. Onnie Boyd, age 62, of Rt. 1 Wedowee passed away in a LaGrange hospital at 
7:00 Monday morning. February 20. Funeral services were held from the Levins 
Baptist Church at 2 1 p. Tuesday, February 21, with the Rev. G. G. Gravitt 
officiating.  The pallbearers were Mrs. Boyd's nephews, Carl Huey, T. V. Huey, 
C. C. Huey, James Ward, Alvin Hue and Ralph Huey. Interment was in the church 
cemetery under the direction of Roanoke Funeral Home. Mrs. Boyd is survived by 
her husband, Mr. R. L. Boyd; four sons: Robert Boyd of Wedowee. Ralph Boyd of 
Wedowee, Herman Boyd of LaGrange, and John Boyd of Wedowee; four daughters: Mrs. 
Sallie Mae Traylor of Newell, Mrs. Winnie Yates of LaGrange, Mrs. Hattie Creed 
LaGrange and Mrs. Ezell Waldrep of Waverly; two sisters, Mrs. Sustie Huey of 
Meben, North Carolina, and Mrs. Ruth Browning of Texas; one brother, Oliver 
McManus of Oklahoma; twenty-four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
