Services for Mrs. Vester Boyd, 73, of Wedowee, Rt. 1, will be Wednesday at 2 
p.m. at Levens Baptist Church in Wedowee with the Rev. Gordon Taylor and the 
Rev. Chink Nobley officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body 
will remain at Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee until one hour prior to 
services. Mrs. Boyd died Monday at Mary Brandon Nursing Home in Oxford after a 
long illness. Survivors include her husband, Mrs. Ralph Boyd of Wedowee; two 
sons, Ray Boyd of Wedowee and Jim Boyd of Anniston; four sisters, Mrs. Lucie 
Miles of Standing Rock, Mrs. Nana Mile of LaGrange, Ga., Mrs. Ora Kelly of 
Wedowee and Mrs. Lila Lipham of Henagar; three brothers, Pierce Harvel of 
Albuquerque, N.M., Ceph Harvel of Wedowee and Jay Harvel of LaGrange; five 
grandchildren and a greatgrandchild. Pallbearers will be Billy Harvel, Bobby 
Harvel, Claxton Miles, Jimmy Boyd, Danny Stewart and Robert Higgins. Mrs. Boyd 
was a lifelong resident of Randolph County. She was a housewife and a member of 
Liberty Grove Congregational Methodist Church.
