Services for Swann Boyd, 72, of Wedowee were Sunday at New Home United Methodist 
Church with the Rev. Frank Rasbury and the Rev. Ernest Lipham officiating. 
Burial was in the church cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee in 
charge. Mrs. Boyd died Friday in South-side. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. 
Irene Boyd of Wedowee; two daughters, Mrs. Janice Boyd Cosper of Cullman and 
Mrs. Sandra Boyd Murphy of Birmingham; a sister, Mrs. Tula Haynes of Oxford; two 
brothers, the Rev. J.D. Boyd of Oxford and Verlon Boyd of Clearwater, Fla.; 
three grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Pallbearers were Edward Creed, 
Howard Triplett, Winston Stewart, Sonny Creed, Payson Green and Lewis Steed. Mr. 
Boyd was a Randolph County native, a farmer and a former employee of the 
Randolph County Highway Department. He was a member of New Home United Methodist 
Church.
