Services for Mrs. Irene J. Boyd, 73, of Wedowee, Rt. 1, will be Sunday at 2 p.m. 
at New Home United Methodist Church with the Rev. Earnest Lipham and the Rev. 
David Shutes officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery with 
Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee in charge. The body will be at the church an 
hour before services. Mrs. Boyd died Thursday at Baptist Medical Center 
Montclair in Birmingham. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Janice Boyd 
Cosper of Trussville and Mrs. Sandra Boyd Murphy of Birmingham; three sisters, 
Mrs. Cornice Blake of Fayeville, Tenn., Mrs. Era Morris of Chattanooga and Mrs. 
Louise Walker of Winter Haven, Fla.; two brothers, Lewis Johnson of Opp and 
David Johnson of Dozier; three grandchildren; and two greatgrandchildren. 
Pallbearers will be Brenford Boyd, Brandy Johnson, Jimmy Baber, Donovan Murphy, 
Patrick Murphy and Jeffery Cash. A Cleburne County native, Mrs. Boyd had lived 
in Randolph County for the past 50 years. She was a homemaker, a member of New 
Home United Methodist Church, a member of the Folsom Homemakers Club and of the 
Community Bible Study Group.
