Buchanan, 92, of Heflin Rt. 3, died Wednesday at. Cleburne Hospital after a short illness. Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, Randolph County, with the Rev. Alvin Dempsey and the Rev. J. D. Bearden officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery with Dryden Funeral Home in charge. Survivors include a daughter Mrs. Pearlie Bearden of Heflin; five grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Earl Walker, Floyd Smith. Gary Bearden, Terry Bearden, Randall Bearden and Noel Williams. Mrs. Buchannan was a member of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church. The body will remain at the residence until time of service. Additional Comments: Born Aug 3, 1882. In 1920 Violet O. Buchanan and daughter Pearlie were living with Samuel N. & Ninn Williams in Cleburne County Alabama listed as their daughter. John Buchanan married Violet Owen Sep 16, 1900, in Cleburne County AL. In 1920 Violet Buchanan was a widow.
