Ashland Progress
Last rites for Jake S. Buckhannon, 73, were held at Center West Oct. 7. 
Conducting the service was Rev. W. E. Wellborn and Rev. Grady Harris with Blair 
Funeral Directors in charge. Interment was in the Church Cemetery. Mr. 
Buckhannon, a resident of Delta, passed away at Clay County Hospital October 5. 
Surviving other than the wife are four daughters and five sons. Mrs. Lessie Davis 
and Mrs. Bradford Smith, Delta, Mrs. Roy Stephens, Marietta, Ga., Mrs. John W. 
Gentry, Sale Creek, Tenn., George, Fred, Winmon, W. T. and Lawrence Buckhannon; 
thirty-six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren.
