LOCAL News

We learn from Mr. B.F. Cotton who was over in Randolph county, Alabama last 
week that Deputy Sheriff John Burnett of that county was frozen to death on 
the evening of the 29th ultimo. He left Wedowee late in the evening for home 
and as he was under the influence of whiskey, he fell off his horse and was 
frozen to death.
