OBITUARIES:

Velma Butler

   (NEWELL) Velma Butler, age 75, of Rt. 1 Newell, died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 1985 
at Bowdon Area Hospital, Bowdon, Ga., after an extended illness.
   Mrs. Butler was a lifelong resident of Randolph County.  She was a homemaker 
and a member of Harmony Congregational Methodist Church.
   Mrs. Butler is survived by her husband, Troy Butler of Rt. 1 Newell; one 
daughter, Mrs. Delaine Lipham of Rt. 1 Newell; one son-in-law, Billy Fred 
Lipham of Newell; two grandchildren, Joey Lipham and Jerlolene East of Newell; 
two sisters, Mrs. Ellen Traylor of Carrollton, Ga., and Mrs. Iva Lovvorn of 
Woodland; three brothers, Willie J. Meadows, Winfred Meadows, and Burlin 
Meadows, all of Woodland.
   Funeral services for Mrs. Butler were Wednesday, Jan. 23 at 2 p.m. at 
Harmony Congregational Methodist Church with the Rev. Earnest Lipham 
officiating.  Burial followed in the church cemetery.
   Pallbearers for Mrs. Butler were Tommy Traylor, Larry Nobley, Carey Herren, 
Steve Meadows, Gilbert Meadows and Jeff Stewart. 
   Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee was in charge of arrangements.
