Roanoke Leader
The two-and-a-half-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Luther Butler, who reside near 
Union church, ten miles north of Wedowee, was killed by a passing automobile on 
last Wednesday. Mr. Homer White was driving the car. It is said that the child 
was playing near a mailbox on the side of the highway, and just as Mr. White was 
passing, he attempted to cross to his mother on the other side. He died a few 
hours later and interment took place at the Union church the following day. This 
was an only child of Mr. and Mrs. Butler, and great sympathy is felt both for the 
bereaved family and for the unfortunate driver, who is so greatly grieved over 
the accident.
