Chase, age 21, died at her residence at Woodland on July 13 at 5:30 a.m. Funeral services were held on Sunday at Zion church near Wedowee at 1 p.m. with the Rev. W.W. Langford officiating. Interment was in New Harmony cemetery, two miles south of Heflin, directed by Brown - Service of Heflin. Grave side services were conducted by the Rev. H.R. Carter. Miss Chase was the daughter of the late B. D. Chase, a rural mail carrier here. She was a member of Zion Baptist church. Miss Chase is survived by a sister Mrs. Hoyt Williams of Woodland and her maternal grandmother, Mrs. Lucy Evans of Lacon, Ala. Pallbearers were Amos T. Williams, Junior Williams, Robert McCarley, Landers McCarley and Mark Lovvorn and J.C. Camp. A number of Miss Chase's girl friends were flower girls.
