Anniston Star
Eight-year-old James W. Clark of Anniston Rt., 3, died instantly when he darted 
in front of a car on the old Birmingham Highway shortly before noon Saturday, 
police reported.... Officer Charles Bunn said a late model Plymouth driven 
toward Anniston by Fred Bussey 31, of Bynum. struck the youngster, son of Mr. 
and Mrs. J.E. Clark...
They said they could not tell what reason the child ran into the highway. The 
other boy's full name was not learned, Bunn said, but it was thought to be 
Scott. No charges have been made against the driver of the fatal. Funeral 
services will be conducted tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 at Mount Pleasant Baptist 
Church near Wedowee with the Rev. Claude Hanner and the Ed Cox officiating. 
Burial will following the adjacent cemetery. Jones Funeral Home in charge. The 
boy is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James E. Clark, brother, Charles, 
and one sister, Joyce, all of the home, paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mr. 
Vester Clark, Alexandria, and the maternal grandmother Mrs. Ida Huckeba, 
Anniston. Pallbearers will be Royce Smith, Travis Talley, Clyde Pettus, Bobby 
Devine, J. W. Alridge and Cleveland Wigley.
