OBITUARIES:

Mrs. Ruth Parmer Cofield

   (RT. 5, FRANKLIN, GA.)Mrs. Ruth (Parmer) Cofield, age 49, of Rt. 5, 
Franklin, Ga., the Ephesus community, died Wednesday, Sept. 8, 1982, at Heard 
County Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.
   She was the wife of the late Mr. Armond Cofield, who preceded her in death 
in 1965. Born in Randolph County, Alabama, daughter of James Ervin Parmer of 
Ephesus and the late Mrs. Cora Lee (Richardson) Parmer, she had lived in this 
area her entire life. As a member of Gray Hill Church of God, she was a Sunday 
school teacher in the junior department, a member of the church choir, and a 
president of the ladies auxiliary for many years. She had worked at Bremen-
Bowdon Investment Company for the past six years.
   Mrs. Cofield is survived by her father; two daughters, Mrs. Elaine Merrill 
and Miss Wanda G. Cofield, both of Ephesus; three brothers, Hand-ley Parmer of 
Bowdon and Bobby Farmer and Hollis Parmer, both of Ephesus; two grandsons, 
Brent Merrill and Lance Merrill, both of Ephesus; and a number of nieces and 
nephews.
   Funeral services were conducted Thursday morning at 11 o'clock at Gray Hill 
Church of God, with the Rev. Ronald Hodges and the Rev. Phillip Patterson, 
officiating. Interment followed in the Bethel East Baptist Church Cemetery, 
with the following nephews serving as pallbearers: David Parmer, Phillip 
Farmer, Matthew Farmer, Mark Fanner, Michael Parmer, and Barry Harvell.
   Steadman Funeral Home of Bowdon in charge of arrangements.
