Anniston Star
Funeral services for William L. Cofield, 81, of Oxford, Rt. 6, will be held this 
afternoon at 8 o'clock from Wesley Chapel Methodist Church in Randolph County by 
the Revs. David S. Homan, Floyd Battles and Mr. Craft. Burial will be in the 
adjoining cemetery. Usrey in charge. Mr. Cofield, a resident of the Lakeview 
area for nine years, died Friday afternoon at Memorial Hospital after an illness 
of two years. Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Siddie Cofield of Oxford, Rt. 6; six 
sons W. H. of Talladega, L. R. of Boaz, H. T., S. J., and A. W. of Oxford, R. B. 
of Anniston, three daughters Mrs. C. H. Kennedy of Anniston, Mrs. B. E. Saxon of 
Oxford, Mrs. W. W. Harmon, Jr., of Birmingham, two brothers. C. D. Cofield of 
Anniston, S. J. Cofield of Birmingham, 16 grandchildren and four great-
grandchildren. Grandsons will be pallbearers.
