OBITUARIES:

Florence Cox

   (ROANOKE) Mrs. Florence Cox, age 96, of Roanoke died Sunday, Jan. 27, 1985, 
at Traylor Nursing Home in Roanoke.
   Mrs. Cox is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Carson Pope of Montgomery, 
Mrs. Varnice Johnson of Roanoke, and Mrs. Lanier Weathers of Rock Mills; 12 
grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and 
several nieces and nephews.
   Funeral services for Mrs. Cox were Monday, Jan. 28 at 1 p.m. from 
Quattlebaum's Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Ed Lauderdale officiating.   Burial 
was in the Paran Baptist Church Cemetery.
   Pallbearers were Clyde Smith, Jan Brown, David Johnson, Mike Weathers, John 
Tom Johnson, and Johnny Pope.
   Quattlebaum's Brown-Service Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
