Services for Mrs. Nellie Craven, 72, of Newell, Rt. 1, were today at Union 
Baptist Church with the Rev. Roger Hammett and the Rev. Ray Runyan officiating. 
Burial was in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee in 
charge. Mrs. Craven died Monday at Regional Medical Center. Survivors include 
her husband, Stonewall Craven of Newell; three daughters, Mrs. Lena New of 
Newell, Mrs. Stella Phillips of LaGrange, Ga., and Mrs. Mildred Tarver of Cedar 
town, Ga.; two sisters, Mrs. Lessie Brooks of Anniston and Mrs. Elsie Dean of 
Fort Myers, Fla.; two brothers, J.D. Craft of Newell and Eulas B. Craft of Sum-
merlin, S.C.; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were 
Z.O. Williamson, Tim Craft, Ray Dean, Neil Tinkard, Dorsey White, Ellis Craven, 
Gilbert Wilson and Roy Tittle. Mrs. Craven was a north Alabama native and a 
longtime Randolph County resident. She was a homemaker and a member of Iduma 
Methodist Church.
