OBITUARIES:

Julia Higgins Crawford

   (ROANOKE) Mrs. Julia Higgins Crawford, age 85, died Saturday, Feb. 1, 1986, 
at the home of her niece, Mrs. Sarah Lee Evans of Roanoke.
   She was born in Chambers County and was a member of Canaan Missionary 
Baptist Church at Welch from an early age.  Widow of the late Mr. Johnnie 
Crawford, she had no children.
   Mrs. Crawford is survived by six sisters, Vera Williams of Roanoke, Erie 
McClendon of Franklin, Ga., Matte K. Carlisle of Five Points, Pauline Higgins 
of New York, Ruby Clark of LaGrange, Ga., and Tina M. Brown of Chattanooga, 
Tenn.; two brothers, Joe A. Higgins of Cleveland, Ohio, and Otis Higgins of 
Louisiana; and nieces and nephews.
   Funeral services were conducted at two o'clock Saturday afternoon, Feb. 8, 
at Canaan Missionary Baptist Church, the Rev. W.R. Terry officiating. Interment 
was in the Church Cemetery.
   Silmon Funeral Home of LaFayette was in charge of arrangements.
