Services for Beauford Leon Creed, 59, of Wedowee, Rt 1, were today at Valley 
Grove Primitive Baptist Church with the Rev. Cecil Halsey and the Rev. David 
Porter officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery with Benefield Funeral 
Home of Wedowee in charge. Mr. Creed died Sunday at Clay County Hospital after a 
long illness. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Walti Creed of Wedowee; four 
daughters, Mrs. Betty Nelson of Riverview, Mrs. Wanda Wortham of Newell, Mrs. 
Elaine Landreth of Lanett and Mrs. Carol Landreth of Shawmut; a son, Edward Lee 
Creed of Wedowee; four sisters, Mrs. Ellie V. Nobley and Mrs. Earline Ward, both 
of LaGrange, Ga., Mrs. Gladys York of Winston-Salem, N.C., and Mrs. Euladean 
Gober of Greenbrier, Tenn.; seven brothers, Glenn Creed, Ellis Creed, Dorsey 
Creed, Uther Creed, Larkin Creed, Jimmy Creed and Joe Creed, all of LaGrange; 
and 13 grandchildren. Pallbearers wee Jackie Wortham, Jimmy Hill, Eugene 
Wortham, Gary Lipham, Dennis Fowler and Cecil Owens. Mr. Creed was a lifelong 
resident of Randolph County. He was a veteran of World War II, a truck driver 
and a member of Bethel West Baptist Church.
