OBITUARIES:

Mattie Mae Daniel

   (CARROLLTON, Ga.) Mrs. Mattie Mae Daniel, age 75, of Carrollton died Tuesday 
morning, Jan, 22, 1985 at her residence following a brief illness.  She was 
born in Randolph County, March 30, 1909, the daughter of the late Bud Whitmore 
and Annie Maddox Whitmore.  She had lived in Carrollton about 34 years, moving 
there from Bowdon.  Mrs. Daniel was a homemaker and a member of Welcome Hill 
Baptist Church.
   On June 3, 1923 she was married to William Harford (Willie) Daniel, who died 
January 13, 1982.  Two children preceded her in death: an infant son and Albert 
Lee Daniel, who died in 1972.
   Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Lillian Hightower of Carrollton; two sons, 
Curtis M. Daniel of Route 1 Ranburne and Jimmie Davis Daniel of Carrollton; ten 
grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Elmer Whitmore of 
Roanoke.
   Funeral services were conducted Thursday, Jan. 24 at 2 p.m. from Welcome 
Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Melton Jiles officiating, assisted by Rev. 
Greg Smith and Rev. Wayne Webb.  Music was by the Helton Sisters and Twyla.  
Pallbearers were Vernard Harper, J.W. Daniel, Jural Daniel, Troy Daniel, 
Darrell Hill, and Thurman Whitmore.  Interment was in the Carrollton City 
Cemetery.
   Martin & Hightower Funeral Home of Carrollton was in charge of the 
arrangements.
