Daily Northwest Alabamian, August 29, 1967
HALEYVILLE - Hiram James Davis, 90, Haleyville 5, died August 27, 1967 at one 
a.m. in a local hospital. He had been ill for four years. Born October 13, 
1876, Mr. Davis was a retired farmer. Funeral services were held August 28 at 
2 p.m. at Bethel Church in Marion County with Rev. Brindley officiating. 
Burial followed in the adjoining cemetery. Nichols Funeral Home directing. 
Survivors include one son, Russell Davis, Haleyville 5; three daughters, Mrs. 
Allie Rayburn, Mrs. Ruth Alene Rhodes, both of Hackleburg and Mrs. Sallie 
Atkins, Haleyville; 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grand-children; one brother, 
Henry Davis; one sister, Mrs. Delia Marshall.
