Funeral Services Held For Mrs. Frances Davis

Mrs. Francis Prestridge Davis of Route one, Thomson, formerly of Bremen, 
passed away in a private hospital in Thomson Monday, February 10. Mrs. Davis 
was born in Randolph County, Ala., May 25, 1889, the daughter of the late 
Sally Arrington Prestridge and James Prestridge. She was a member of Corinth 
Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Hoke Gilmer, Thomson, 
and Mrs. Gladys Spake, Breman, one son, Durrell Davis, Tallapoosa, three 
sisters, Mrs. Oscar Freeman, LaGrange, Mrs. Wyatt Bryan, Bowdon, and Mrs. 
Grady Almon, Carrollton; two brothers, John Prestridge, Watley(should be 
Wadley), Ala., and Jessie Prestridge, Carrollton; ten grandchildren and ten 
great grandchildren. Funeral Services were conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. 
from the Chapel of Hightower Funeral Home with Rev. Dewey Robinson 
officiating. Interment, Bremen City cemetery. Music was rendered by Jr. 
Robinson quartet. The following gentlemen served as pallbearers: Buford 
Spake, Ray Spake, J.W. Spake, Thomas Spake, Bobby Spake and Emmett White. 
Hightower Funeral Home of Bremen had charge of the arrangement.

Francis Prestridge Davis was the wife of James W. "Jim" Davis.
