Samuel Jesse Davis

  Samuel Jesse Davis, age 74, Roanoke Rt. 5, passed away at his home about 
3:15 Saturday morning, Jan. 22.
  Mr. Davis is survived by his wife; three sons, Ralph Davis of LaGrange, 
Euell (Euzell) Davis of Wadley, and Rayford Davis of Gadsden; two daughters, 
Mrs. Flossie Maddox of Woodland and Mrs. Verna Broach of Opelika; two 
brothers, Hiram Davis of Haleyville adn Henry Davis of Roopville, Ga.; two 
sisters, Mrs. Delia Marshall of Moultrie, Ga., and Miss Carrie Davis of 
Newell; and 10 grandchildren.
  Funeral services for Mr. Davis were conducted Sunday afternoon at two 
o'clock from the Center Chapel Baptist Church with the Rev. Roy Parmer 
officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. Quattlebaum's Funeral Home 
was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Additional Comments:

Samuel "Sam" Jesse Davis' wife was Eliza Ola Moore Davis.

Samuel "Sam" J. Davis' parents were William Euzell and Martha Lewis Davis.

Brothers and Sisters of Samuel J. Davis were: John William Davis, Mary 
Elizabeth Davis Benefield, Lucy Frances N. Davis Mathews, Hiram James Davis, 
Sophronia "Fronie" "Fronia" K. Davis Fincher, Delia Jerushra Davis Marshall, 
Henry Thomas Davis and Carrie Mae Jane Davis.
